BHP meets the new Minister of Health

On Monday, January 27, 2025, the Botswana Harvard Health Partnership (BHP) management had the privilege of meeting with the newly appointed Minister of Health, Dr Stephen Modise. The meeting focused on BHP’s longstanding partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the organization’s mandate to support healthcare research, capacity building, and system strengthening in Botswana.

Dr Modise emphasized the new administration's commitment to achieving universal health coverage for all citizens. He highlighted the critical role BHP could play in supporting this vision, particularly in skills transfer for key health cadres such as virologists and in strengthening data management systems, an area of growing importance given the recent coming into effect of the Data Protection Act.

BHP is excited to continue collaborating with the MOH to advance national health priorities and improve health outcomes for all.
