Dr. Vladimir Novitsky, MD, PhD, is a Principal Research Scientist in the Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Novitsky has made a number of significant contributions to the virological and immunological study of HIV-1 infection. The main focus of Dr. Novitsky’s research is molecular analysis of the HIV-1 subtype C epidemic, genotypic and phenotypic characterization of the HIV-1 subtype C genome, and potential associations between virological and immunological parameters in early and acute HIV-1 subtype C infection. He contributed significantly to the design, planning, capacity building, and supervision of the Botswana Harvard Health Partnership Laboratory in Botswana.
